With the first round of retail license approvals sent out last week, select Ohio dispensaries are officially opening their doors and welcoming adult use marijuana customers starting today.

Back in November, state residents approved Issue 2, a ballot measure to legalize, regulate and tax cannabis for adult use in Ohio. With 53% of the votes counted, Issue 2 was ahead by 55.6% to 44.4%. The measure went into full effect on December 7, establishing a regulatory framework to allow adults 21 and older to purchase, possess and cultivate cannabis. The Division of Cannabis Control has issued dual-use certificates of operation to 98 medical cannabis dispensaries. Adults 21 years of age or older with a valid ID are now able to purchase a total of up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis and up to 15 grams of concentrate.

“Ohio’s milestone as the 25th state to legalize adult-use cannabis represents a significant moment for consumers, our partners and distributors, and the broader cannabis community,” says Angela Pih, global chief brand and marketing officer at CCELL. “Within Ohio, the popularity and demand for closed-system vape pods are growing exponentially, with CCELL proudly supplying the majority of hardware for top cannabis brands in the region. We are dedicated to ongoing innovation and expanding our product offerings with new, all-in-one technologies and cartridge advancements aimed at reaching patients and consumers in Ohio and throughout the Midwest. As Ohio’s cannabis program continues to evolve, we are committed to fostering a safe, sustainable, and well-regulated adult-use market alongside our strategic partners.”

After months of preparation, state dispensaries are excited to welcome recreational customers into their stores. Here are just a few of the dispensaries that received retail license approvals:
