The challenges that cannabis business owners face when it comes to insurance can bear a great burden. Between the immediate upcharge that comes with owning a cannabis business to all of the additional coverage needed with protecting crops and employees, it can be hard to figure out exactly the type of coverage you need or where to turn. 

Lehua Brands just recently announced expansion into Canada’s cannabis market. The California-based cannabis beverage and vape company is now selling its Voila! Infused sparkling drinks in over 250 dispensaries across Ontario. 

AYR Cannabis Dispensary, a cannabis retail chain owned by U.S. multi-state cannabis operator AYR Wellness Inc., recently opened a retail store in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 22. Another retail location in the state is set to open in early September in Palm Beach Gardens. 

Bayou City Hemp Company (BCHC) is bringing its full fleet of hemp-derived THC beverages to the Florida, Louisiana and Tennessee markets. Now on shelves in hundreds of retail locations throughout the states, BCHC’s product line includes HOWDY, 8th Wonder and Beach Break, which will officially launch Fall 2024.

July 1 marked the implementation of California’s Assembly Bill 2440, mandating all THC oil, vape pens and batteries be disposed of at a hazardous waste collection facility or other approved businesses.

Georgia-based brewery Scofflaw Brewing has decided to join the nascent hemp market through the launch of its latest line of THC-infused beverages. Available in two flavors — Lemonade and Sweet Tea — each can contains 5mg of THC and zero calories. 

AYR Wellness is entering the Connecticut cannabis market with its first dispensary in the state. AYR Manchester, catering to both adult-use consumers and medical patients, opened Friday, August 16th at 185 Spencer St, Manchester, CT 06040—formerly a Starbucks location featuring a drive-thru.

Brix Cannabis just announced its launch into Connecticut. With an initial focus on producing high-testing flower, Brix Cannabis will target the 50% flower market segment, followed by a plan to introduce vapes that represent 30% of the current market.

Vermont-based cannabis product manufacturer Upstate Elevator Supply is partnering with Johnson Brothers of Minnesota and local brewer Surly Brewing Co. to introduce a new 10mg THC beverage line across the state.

Santa Cruz robotics innovator Neatleaf has just partnered with iAnthus Capital Holdings, Inc., a national cannabis consumer packaged goods company and owner of 37 retail dispensaries in seven U.S. states, to bring Neatleaf’s AI technology to the company’s Pleasantville, NJ cultivation facility.
